# SunBelt Xpress Appoints Chris Hood as Vice President of Operations

Hickory, NC — SunBelt Xpress, a leading asset-based carrier specializing in furniture shipping and logistics, announces the promotion of Chris Hood to Vice President of Operations. With more than 30 years of experience in transit operations and fleet management, Hood will play a key role in strengthening operational performance and supporting the company’s continued growth.

Hood brings a wealth of experience to his role, having served most recently as Director of Regional Operations with SunBelt Xpress.  Prior to joining SunBelt in December of 2024, Hood was a regional manager with North Park Trans in Salt Lake City, following a 37-year career with YRC where he held leadership roles across North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Pennsylvania. 

As Vice President of Operations, Hood will focus on streamlining processes, supporting terminal and fleet operations, and ensuring SunBelt Xpress continues to deliver reliable, damage-conscious service to customers nationwide. 

“Chris brings a deep understanding of complex transportation operations and the discipline required to move high-value freight like furniture with care and consistency,” said Chad Clark, SVP and General Manager at SunBelt Xpress. “His extensive experience will be instrumental as we grow our network while maintaining the service quality our customers expect."

Chris is recognized for his people-first leadership style and ability to build strong, high-performing teams. His background managing multi-location operations aligns well with SunBelt Xpress’s focus on dependable furniture transportation solutions. 

“I’m honored to take on this new role at SunBelt Xpress and look forward to building upon a culture that values precision and care in furniture transportation,” said Hood. “I am excited to support our drivers, operations teams, and customers as we continue to strengthen the company.”
